A decadent and incredibly easy chocolate dessert featuring crushed Oreos and a self-saucing fudgy batter.
Ingredients
5 tablespoons butter
15 Oreos (crumbled)
1.5 cups self-rising flour
0.75 cup whole milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1.5 cups brown sugar
1.5 cups hot water
Instructions
Step 1: Melt the 5 tablespoons of butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish while preheating your oven to 350°F.
Step 2: Sprinkle 15 crumbled Oreos over the melted butter in an even layer.
Step 3: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create a smooth batter.
Step 4: Pour the batter over the cookies (do not stir), then sprinkle with 1.5 cups of brown sugar.
Step 5: Gently pour 1.5 cups of hot water over the top and bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden and the center is fudgy.
Notes
Ensure you do not stir the layers after pouring the water to maintain the saucy bottom.
