Ingredients
2 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp baking powder
Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels until no moisture remains on the surface.
Step 2: Combine soy sauces, honey, sesame oil, five-spice, ginger, and garlic in a large bowl.
Step 3: Toss the wings in the marinade and let sit for at least 30 minutes.
Step 4: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F and spray the basket with oil.
Step 5: Dust the wings with cornstarch and baking powder, then toss to coat lightly.
Step 6: Place wings in a single layer in the basket and cook for 15 minutes, flipping halfway.
Step 7: Increase heat to 400°F and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until deep golden brown.
Step 8: Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Ensure wings are not touching in the air fryer basket to allow for maximum crispiness.
