Description
A quick and easy breakfast or snack, this air fryer egg and cheese toast combines crispy bread with a perfectly cooked egg and melted cheese.
Ingredients
2 slices of thick bread (sourdough or sandwich bread)
2 eggs
½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, etc.)
1 tablespoon butter (optional)
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Optional: fresh parsley or chives
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: Lightly butter one side of each bread slice. Using a spoon or your fingers, gently press a well into the center of the unbuttered side of each slice.
Step 3: Carefully crack one egg into the well of each bread slice.
Step 4: Sprinkle the shredded cheese around the edges of the bread or directly over the egg whites.
Step 5: Place the bread slices into the air fryer basket. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the cheese is melted and bubbly. For a runnier yolk, cook for less time; for a firmer yolk, cook longer.
Step 6: Season immediately with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of garlic powder or paprika with the cheese. Try different cheese varieties like Monterey Jack or a Colby blend. Ensure your bread is thick enough to hold the egg without leakage.
