Description

A delightful dessert featuring tender apple pieces wrapped in dough and oozing with sweet caramel, baked until golden brown.

Ingredients

Scale

1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 medium apples, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled, cored, and finely diced
1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus extra for serving
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a small bowl, combine the diced apples, 1/4 cup of caramel sauce, and optional nutmeg. Stir well to coat the apples.
Step 3: In a separate small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
Step 4: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
Step 5: Place about 1 tablespoon of the apple-caramel mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle.
Step 6: Carefully roll up each triangle from the wide end towards the pointed tip, completely enclosing the filling to form a "bomb." Pinch the seams firmly to seal.
Step 7: Dip each assembled apple caramel bomb into the melted butter, then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
Step 8: Place the coated bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 9: Bake for 18-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
Step 10: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack. Drizzle with extra warm caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

For an extra crunch, add a sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts to the apple filling. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent treat.
