Description
This delightful Bacon Broccoli Cauliflower Salad combines crisp broccoli and cauliflower florets with savory bacon in a tangy, creamy dressing.
Ingredients
1 large head broccoli, chopped into bite-sized florets
1 large head cauliflower, chopped into bite-sized florets
1/2 lb bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon granulated sugar (or to taste)
1/4 cup finely diced red onion
1/4 cup sunflower seeds (optional, for crunch)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, granulated sugar, salt, and pepper until well combined and smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Step 2: Add the chopped broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, and diced red onion to the bowl with the dressing.
Step 3: Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss gently to ensure all florets are evenly coated.
Step 4: Fold in the crumbled crispy bacon and sunflower seeds (if using).
Step 5: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully. Stir again just before serving.
Notes
For a sweeter salad, increase the sugar to 2 tablespoons. For a tangier dressing, add a splash more apple cider vinegar. You can also add 1/2 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese for extra flavor.
