Description

A comforting and easy casserole combining the beloved flavors of a bacon cheeseburger with hearty ramen noodles, baked to cheesy perfection.


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (reserve some for garnish)
2 (3 oz) packages instant ramen noodles (flavor packets discarded)
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup milk
1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove bacon, crumble, and set aside, reserving about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.
Step 3: Add ground beef to the skillet with the reserved bacon fat. Cook over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Step 4: While the beef cooks, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles (without flavor packets) and cook for 2 minutes (one minute less than package directions for slightly al dente). Drain well.
Step 5: In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef mixture, drained ramen noodles, beef broth, milk, cream of mushroom soup, ketchup, yellow mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined.
Step 6: Stir in 1.5 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the crumbled bacon into the mixture.
Step 7: Transfer the noodle and beef mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and the rest of the crumbled bacon.
Step 8: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly around the edges and the cheese on top is melted and golden brown.
Step 9: Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your ultimate comfort food!

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the ground beef. You can also garnish with chopped green onions or a dollop of sour cream for serving.
