- 1.5 pounds chicken tenders or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornflakes, crushed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or olive oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1–2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Soak chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Mix flour, crushed cornflakes, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Dredge chicken in flour mixture and place on baking sheet. Spray or drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Combine honey, hot sauce, vinegar, and paprika in a saucepan. Warm until combined.
- Drizzle hot honey sauce over chicken before serving.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for a juicier option. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free flour and cornflakes. Reheat in an oven or air fryer for best crispiness.
