A soft, cake-like donut bar baked to perfection and finished with a rich, buttery maple syrup glaze.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
1 tablespoon maple syrup (for glaze)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking pan.
Step 2: Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla, and 1/2 cup maple syrup.
Step 4: Mix wet ingredients into dry until just combined; do not overmix.
Step 5: Spread batter in pan and bake for 18-22 minutes.
Step 6: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and glaze syrup together.
Step 7: Spread glaze over slightly cooled bars and let set before slicing.
Notes
For a crunchier top, add a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter before baking.
