Description

A delicious fusion of banana bread and cinnamon rolls, swirled with cinnamon sugar and topped with luscious cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (warm)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (filling)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (filling)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (filling)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (frosting)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (frosting)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (frosting)
  • 1–2 tbsp milk (frosting)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, sugars, milk, butter, egg, and vanilla.
  2. Combine flour, yeast, and salt separately, then add to the wet ingredients to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes, then let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle with filling.
  6. Roll into a log, cut into 12 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Let rolls rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden.
  9. Beat cream cheese and butter, add sugar and vanilla, then milk for desired consistency.
  10. Frost rolls while warm and serve.

Notes

Add chopped nuts or chocolate chips for variety. For a dairy-free version, use plant-based milk and butter.
