A premium homemade recreation of the iconic triple-decker burger with a signature secret sauce perfect for parties.
Ingredients
1 lb 80/20 ground chuck
4 sesame seed hamburger buns
4 middle bun slices (or bottom buns)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
1/4 cup finely minced white onion
8 slices American cheese
12 dill pickle chips
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Combine mayonnaise, relish, mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl to make the special sauce.
Step 2: Form the ground beef into 8 very thin, wide patties and season generously with salt and pepper.
Step 3: Toast the bun bottoms, tops, and middle layers in a dry skillet until golden.
Step 4: Sear the beef patties in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until fully cooked and browned.
Step 5: Spread sauce on the bottom bun, then layer with onions, lettuce, cheese, and a patty.
Step 6: Place the middle bun on top, add more sauce, onions, lettuce, pickles, and the second patty.
Step 7: Top with the sesame bun lid and serve immediately.
Notes
Make the sauce a day early for the best flavor results. Use high-fat beef for the juiciest patties.
