Description
A delicious deconstructed Big Mac in a wrap, featuring seasoned ground beef, crisp lettuce, cheese, and a tangy homemade special sauce.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
4 large flour tortillas or large lettuce leaves (for low-carb)
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
1/4 cup finely diced white onion
1/4 cup finely diced dill pickles
4 slices American cheese
For the Special Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon dill pickle relish
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Special Sauce. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, dill pickle relish, white vinegar, granulated sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Whisk until smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
Step 2: Cook the Ground Beef. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
Step 3: Warm Tortillas (Optional). If using flour tortillas, warm them briefly in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 15-20 seconds per side, or microwave for 10-15 seconds until pliable. This makes them easier to roll.
Step 4: Assemble the Wraps. Lay a warmed tortilla or large lettuce leaf flat. Spread a generous amount of the prepared special sauce down the center.
Step 5: Add Fillings. Top the sauce with a portion of the cooked ground beef, a slice of American cheese (if using tortillas, the warm beef will slightly melt the cheese), shredded lettuce, diced white onion, and diced dill pickles.
Step 6: Roll and Serve. Carefully fold in the sides of the tortilla/lettuce leaf, then roll it up tightly from the bottom. Serve immediately and enjoy your deconstructed Big Mac!
Notes
For an extra tangy kick, add a splash more vinegar to the special sauce. You can also toast sesame seeds and sprinkle them on the tortillas before rolling for a more authentic burger bun feel. These wraps are great for meal prep; just store components separately and assemble fresh!
