Description
Vibrant blue yeast rolls stuffed with a rich Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookie butter paste and topped with cinnamon cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/3 cup softened butter
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp royal blue gel food color
10 crushed Oreos
2 crumbled Chips Ahoy cookies
1/2 cup softened butter (for filling)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup cream cheese frosting
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
Instructions
Step 1: Bloom the yeast in warm milk and sugar until foamy.
Step 2: Mix in eggs, butter, blue gel, and vanilla until fully combined.
Step 3: Add flour and salt, kneading until a soft blue dough forms.
Step 4: Let the dough rise in a warm spot for 1 hour until doubled.
Step 5: Mix filling butter, brown sugar, and crushed cookies into a paste.
Step 6: Roll dough into a rectangle, spread the paste, and roll up tightly.
Step 7: Cut into 12 rolls and let rise for another 30 minutes in a baking pan.
Step 8: Bake at 345 F for 28 minutes, covering for most of the time to preserve the blue color.
Step 9: Frost with cinnamon cream cheese frosting and garnish with extra cookies.
Notes
Cover with foil during baking to prevent the blue dough from browning too much on top.
