Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (for brownie)
1 cup granulated sugar (for brownie)
2 large eggs (for brownie)
1 tsp vanilla extract (for brownie)
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for brownie)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for cookie)
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed (for cookie)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cookie)
1 large egg (for cookie)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup all-purpose flour (for cookie)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9x9 inch pan with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix melted butter and sugar for the brownie layer, then whisk in eggs and vanilla until glossy.
Step 3: Fold in cocoa and flour for the brownie layer and spread into the pan.
Step 4: Cream butter and sugars for the cookie layer, then mix in egg, vanilla, baking soda, and flour.
Step 5: Stir in chocolate chips and dollop the cookie dough over the brownie batter.
Step 6: Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Step 7: Cool completely before slicing into 16 squares.
Notes
