Description
A delightful and easy casserole combining flaky crescent rolls with a sweet, creamy cheesecake filling, baked to golden perfection.
Ingredients
2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for brushing top)
Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough. Do not separate the triangles. Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pinching seams together to form a solid crust. Extend the dough slightly up the sides of the dish.
Step 3: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar together with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Beat in the vanilla extract, eggs, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 5: Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll base in the baking dish.
Step 6: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and carefully lay it over the cream cheese filling, pinching seams together as needed to cover the top. You may need to gently stretch it to fit.
Step 7: Brush the top layer of crescent dough with melted butter.
Step 8: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set. A slight jiggle in the center is okay, as it will continue to set as it cools.
Step 9: Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack for at least 15-20 minutes before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving warm.
Notes
For an extra touch, drizzle with caramel sauce or serve with fresh berries. This casserole is also delicious served chilled!
