Ingredients
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup buttermilk
1 cup cherry pie filling
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Step 2: Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
Step 3: Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 5: Mix in the dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
Step 6: Gently fold in the cherry pie filling and chocolate chips until just combined.
Step 7: Pour batter into the pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
Step 8: Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
