Ingredients
- Fresh cherries

Instructions
- Pit and halve fresh cherries. In a saucepan, combine cherries, sugar, water, and cornstarch. Heat on medium for 8-10 minutes until thickened. Cool and refrigerate.
- Whisk heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and sea salt until sugar dissolves to make vanilla ice cream base.
- Pour base into ice cream maker and churn 20-30 minutes. Add chocolate chunks slowly while churning.
- Layer ice cream and cherry filling in a container, repeating twice for swirl effect.
- Press wax paper on surface, cover tightly, freeze 2-3 hours until firm.

Pre-freeze ice cream maker bowl 24 hours before use for creamier texture. Cover ice cream with wax paper before freezing to prevent ice crystals. Customize texture by adding more chocolate or crushed cookies during churning.
