Description

Light, crispy, and coated in festive cinnamon sugar, these easy-to-make crisps are a perfect sweet treat for your Christmas Eve celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

8 (6-inch) flour tortillas
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Cut each tortilla into 6-8 wedge shapes, like pizza slices. You can use a knife or a pizza cutter.
Step 3: In a small bowl, melt the unsalted butter. In another small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, mixing well.
Step 4: Arrange the tortilla wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they don't overlap.
Step 5: Lightly brush each tortilla wedge with melted butter. Then, generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over each buttered wedge. You can also toss the wedges in a bowl with butter and then with cinnamon sugar for a more even coating.
Step 6: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crisps are golden brown and crispy. Keep a close eye on them as they can brown quickly.
Step 7: Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. They will crisp up more as they cool.

Notes

For extra festive flair, add a pinch of nutmeg or a tiny bit of orange zest to your cinnamon sugar mixture. For a sweeter treat, drizzle cooled crisps with melted white chocolate.
