- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg

- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract; stir until a soft dough forms.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
- Drizzle melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.
- Use a knife or toothpick to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the dough creating a marbled effect.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- While baking, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Cool bars in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled bars before serving.
Notes
Avoid over-swizzling to maintain a marbled cinnamon swirl look. Bars can be stored at room temperature for 3-4 days or frozen up to 2 months. Add nuts or raisins to the cinnamon swirl for extra texture if desired.
