Ingredients
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (divided)
2 Granny Smith apples (peeled and chopped)
2/3 cups sugar + 2 tablespoons (divided)
1/2 cup butter (softened)
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
1-3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
Step 2: Mix brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon in a bowl; in another bowl, toss apples with 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Step 3: Cream butter and 2/3 cup sugar; beat in eggs and vanilla.
Step 4: Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into creamed mixture alternating with milk.
Step 5: Layer half the batter, half the apples, and half the cinnamon sugar in the pan; repeat layers.
Step 6: Swirl with a knife and bake for 50-60 minutes.
Step 7: Cool slightly, then drizzle with a glaze made of powdered sugar and milk.
