Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for the dough)
- For the Coating:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Cooking spray or oil for greasing
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Add Flour: Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour and baking powder until a dough forms. Let it cool for a few minutes.
- Add Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Form Bites: Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe small bite-sized pieces onto a parchment-lined cutting board or plate. Each piece should be about 1 inch long.
- Chill: Place the churro bites in the freezer for about 10 minutes to firm up.
- Prepare for Frying: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the churro bites in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them.
- Air Fry: Cook in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
- Mix Coating: In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
- Coat Churro Bites: Once the churro bites are done, immediately toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
