Description
Experience the ultimate party appetizer with these crunchy tater tot cones filled with savory bacon cheeseburger goodness.
Ingredients
1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin.
Step 2: Arrange the frozen tater tots on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until slightly softened but not fully crispy.
Step 3: Remove tots from the oven and, working quickly, press 4-5 softened tater tots into each muffin cup, forming a sturdy cup shape with a base and sides. You can use the bottom of a small glass or your fingers. Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the tater tot cups are lightly golden and firm.
Step 4: While the tater tot cups are baking, brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess grease.
Step 5: Add the crumbled cooked bacon, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the beef. Stir well to combine and heat through for 2-3 minutes.
Step 6: Remove the tater tot cups from the oven. Spoon the bacon cheeseburger mixture evenly into each tater tot cup.
Step 7: Top each filled cup with a sprinkle of cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Step 8: Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for another 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tater tot cups are golden and crispy.
Step 9: Carefully remove the cones from the muffin tin and serve hot with extra burger sauce for dipping, if desired.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure your tater tot cups are baked until firm before filling. You can easily customize the filling with diced pickles, jalapeños, or different cheese types to suit your taste. Serve immediately for the best texture.
