Ingredients
500g boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into pieces
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 cups vegetable oil for frying
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp ketchup
3 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
Step 1: Cut the chicken into 1-inch pieces and season with salt and black pepper.
Step 2: Dip the chicken pieces into the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly in the cornstarch.
Step 3: Heat oil in a wok or deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
Step 4: Fry the chicken in batches for 5-6 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on a wire rack.
Step 5: In a separate pan, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, and minced garlic.
Step 6: Simmer the sauce over medium heat until it thickens into a sticky glaze.
Step 7: Toss the crispy chicken in the sauce until well coated and serve immediately.
Notes
Double fry for extra crunch. Ensure the honey is liquid for easier mixing into the glaze.
