Description
Tender, juicy pork chops slow-cooked in a rich, savory gravy made with cream of mushroom soup, onions, and aromatic seasonings. This comforting dish is perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings, offering a hearty meal with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Generously season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, sear the pork chops for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. This step adds depth of flavor but can be skipped if short on time.
- In the bottom of your Crock Pot, layer the sliced onions and minced garlic.
- Place the seared pork chops on top of the onions and garlic in the Crock Pot.
- In a medium bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, thyme, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir until smooth.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the pork chops, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Cover the Crock Pot and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the pork chops are tender and fully cooked.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the pork chops from the Crock Pot. Serve them with the gravy spooned over the top, garnished with fresh parsley.
