Description

These decadent Dark Chocolate Cranberry Magic Bars are an effortless dessert featuring a graham cracker crust, layers of coconut, cranberries, and dark chocolate chips, all drenched in sweetened condensed milk.

Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (or crushed digestive biscuits)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
Step 3: Evenly sprinkle the shredded coconut over the crust. Follow with the dark chocolate chips, dried cranberries, and optional chopped nuts.
Step 4: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over all the layers, ensuring good coverage. Do not stir.
Step 5: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. The top might appear slightly bubbly.
Step 6: Remove the pan from the oven and let the bars cool completely on a wire rack at room temperature. For best results and clean slices, chill in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours before lifting the bars out by the parchment paper overhang and cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra touch, you can lightly toast the coconut before adding it to the bars. If you don't have graham cracker crumbs, digestive biscuits or vanilla wafers make excellent substitutes for the crust. Ensure all ingredients are spread evenly for a balanced bite in every bar!
