Description

Delicious crispy wonton bites with a creamy strawberry cheesecake filling, perfect for parties or a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup strawberry jam or fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. Fold in diced fresh strawberries or stir in strawberry jam until well combined.
  3. Lay a wonton wrapper flat and place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center.
  4. Brush edges with water, fold and seal tightly to form a triangle or pouch.
  5. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling; cover assembled wontons with a damp towel.
  6. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or fryer.
  7. Fry wontons in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy, turning as needed.
  8. Drain on paper towels, then dust with powdered sugar once slightly cooled.
  9. Serve warm as a delightful dessert or party treat.

Notes

Can prepare and refrigerate assembled wontons up to 24 hours before frying. Freeze for longer storage and fry from frozen with extra cooking time. Baking or air frying are lighter alternatives. Try other fillings like blueberry jam, chocolate, or lemon curd.
