An incredibly easy and comforting casserole featuring cooked chicken, creamy soup, cheese, and flaky biscuits, inspired by Dolly Parton's simple cooking style.
Ingredients
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup (undiluted)
1/2 cup milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 (16.3 ounce) can refrigerated flaky layer biscuits
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, milk, and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well combined.
Step 3: Pour the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Step 4: Separate the refrigerated biscuits and arrange them on top of the chicken mixture. You can place them whole or tear them into smaller pieces.
Step 5: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the biscuits.
Step 6: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through, and the casserole is bubbly. If biscuits brown too quickly, tent loosely with foil.
Step 7: Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a little extra flavor, you can add a pinch of garlic powder or dried parsley to the chicken mixture. Using a rotisserie chicken makes prep even faster!
