Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1.5 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup full-fat sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: Cream the butter and sugar together in a stand mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Step 3: Add eggs one at a time, followed by the sour cream, vanilla, and almond extract.
Step 4: Whisk the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and gradually add to the wet mixture on low speed.
Step 5: Scoop 2-tablespoon sized portions of dough and place them on the baking sheet.
Step 6: Gently flatten each ball with a sugar-dipped glass.
Step 7: Bake for 8-10 minutes until set but not browned. Cool completely before frosting.
