Description
Enjoy the classic flavors of a French Dip sandwich in an easy-to-make, cheesy biscuit form.
Ingredients
1 can (8-count) refrigerated flaky biscuit dough
1 lb thinly sliced deli roast beef
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp garlic powder
1 cup beef broth
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Step 2: Carefully separate the biscuit dough into 8 individual biscuits. On a clean surface, gently flatten each biscuit into an oval shape, about ¼ inch thick.
Step 3: Place about 2 ounces (a small handful) of thinly sliced roast beef onto one half of each flattened biscuit. Top the roast beef with about 3 tablespoons of shredded cheese.
Step 4: Fold the other half of the biscuit dough over the filling. Pinch the edges firmly together to seal, creating a crescent or half-moon shape. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a more secure seal.
Step 5: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and garlic powder. Brush the tops of the sealed biscuits with this garlic butter mixture.
Step 6: Arrange the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 7: While the biscuits are baking, gently warm the beef broth in a small saucepan on the stove or in the microwave. Serve the warm French Dip biscuits immediately with the hot beef broth for dipping.
Notes
Serve immediately with warm au jus for dipping. Great for a quick dinner or game day snack! For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
