Description
This easy beef salpicao recipe is a savory, garlicky Filipino stir-fry made with tender beef cubes, Worcestershire sauce, and plenty of toasted garlic chips.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs beef tenderloin or ribeye, cut into 1-inch cubes
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 whole head of garlic, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon oyster sauce
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Marinate the beef cubes with Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes (or skip if in a rush, but the flavor is better marinated).
Step 2: In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over low heat and add the sliced garlic chips. Fry until golden brown and crispy, then remove the garlic and set aside, keeping the oil in the pan.
Step 3: Turn the heat to high. Once the oil is shimmering, add the beef in a single layer. Do not crowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
Step 4: Let the beef sear undisturbed for 2 minutes to develop a brown crust, then toss and stir for another 2-3 minutes until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
Step 5: Add the butter to the pan and toss with the beef until melted and glossy. The butter creates the signature easy beef salpicao recipe glaze.
Step 6: Turn off the heat and toss in half of the toasted garlic chips.
Step 7: Plate the beef, garnish with the remaining garlic chips and fresh parsley, and serve immediately over hot rice.
Notes
Ensure the beef is at room temperature before searing to get the best crust.
