Description
A delightfully simple and sweet dessert casserole combining canned biscuits, apple pie filling, and rich butterscotch chips, all baked until golden and bubbly.
Ingredients
1 (12-oz) can Pillsbury Grands Jr. biscuits (10 count)
1 (21-oz) can apple pie filling
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup butterscotch chips
½ cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp milk
Instructions
Step 1: Heat oven to 350°F and spray a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the apple pie filling, cinnamon, and butterscotch chips. Use a knife or spoon to chop the apple pieces in the filling into smaller, more manageable pieces.
Step 3: Open the can of biscuits and cut each biscuit into four equal pieces. Gently fold the biscuit pieces into the apple mixture until well coated.
Step 4: Pour and spread the entire mixture evenly into the prepared 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the mixture is bubbly.
Step 5: While the casserole is still warm, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until a smooth glaze forms. Drizzle this glaze generously over the warm bubble up.
Notes
Serve this bubble up warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat. A pinch of nutmeg can also be added to the apple mixture for more depth of flavor.
