Description
A quick and easy snack or appetizer, these cheesy dill pickle bread twists are bursting with savory flavor, perfect for pickle lovers.
Ingredients
1 can refrigerated pizza dough or crescent roll sheet
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheddar)
¼ cup finely chopped dill pickles (well-drained)
1 tablespoon melted butter
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried dill (optional but enhances flavor)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Unroll the pizza dough or crescent roll sheet onto the prepared baking sheet. If using crescent rolls, press seams together to form a solid rectangle. Sprinkle evenly with the shredded mozzarella cheese and the well-drained, finely chopped dill pickles.
Step 3: Carefully fold the dough in half lengthwise, bringing one long edge over to meet the other. Gently press down to seal the edges and flatten slightly. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into 8-10 strips, about 1 inch wide.
Step 4: Take each strip and gently twist it several times. Place the twisted strips back on the baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
Step 5: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried dill (if using). Brush this mixture generously over the tops of all the bread twists.
Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the twists are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure your dill pickles are thoroughly drained to prevent a soggy texture. For an extra kick, a pinch of red pepper flakes can be added to the butter mixture. Serve with a side of ranch or a creamy dill dip!
