Description
A moist, tender quick bread that tastes just like a classic cinnamon-sugar coated cake donut.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup melted butter (for topping)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
1 tsp ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and vegetable oil.
Step 4: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Step 6: While the bread is cooling slightly, melt the butter and mix the topping sugar and cinnamon.
Step 7: Brush the top of the warm bread with melted butter and sprinkle generously with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Notes
For a moister bread, substitute half of the milk with sour cream or Greek yogurt.
