Description
This incredibly easy Crock Pot Angel Chicken features tender chicken breasts slow-cooked in a rich, creamy sauce, perfect for a comforting family dinner with minimal effort.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5-2 lbs)
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into pats
1 (0.6 oz) packet dry Italian dressing mix
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker crock. Place the chicken breasts in an even layer at the bottom.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, Italian dressing mix, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
Step 3: Pour the soup mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
Step 4: Cut the cream cheese into cubes and dot them over the chicken. Place the pats of butter on top of the cream cheese and sauce.
Step 5: Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
Step 6: Once cooked, gently shred the chicken within the pot using two forks, or remove and shred, then return to the pot and stir to combine with the creamy sauce.
Step 7: Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. This dish also makes fantastic leftovers for lunch the next day! Consider adding sautéed mushrooms or spinach for more vegetables.
