Description

These delightful cheeseburger pockets feature seasoned ground beef and melty cheddar cheese baked inside a golden, flaky crust, making for a perfect family-friendly meal or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup finely diced onion (optional)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 cans (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and diced onion (if using). Cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
Step 3: Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 4: Remove from heat and stir in ketchup and mustard until well combined. Let the mixture cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
Step 5: Gently unroll each can of crescent roll dough onto your prepared baking sheet or a clean surface. Do not separate the triangles; keep them in two rectangles. Pinch seams together to form a solid rectangle if desired, or use as is.
Step 6: Spoon about 1/4 cup of the ground beef mixture onto the wider end of each crescent dough rectangle. Top with about 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese.
Step 7: Fold the narrower end of the dough over the filling to form a pocket. Press the edges firmly to seal, then use a fork to crimp the edges closed. Ensure there are no open seams.
Step 8: Transfer the sealed pockets to the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.
Step 9: Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pockets are golden brown and puffed up.
Step 10: Carefully remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with extra ketchup, mustard, or your favorite burger sauce for dipping.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce or a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the beef mixture. These pockets are fantastic served with a side of pickles, extra ketchup, mustard, or a creamy burger sauce.
