Description
A simple 5-minute easy hot honey sauce recipe that combines sweet honey with a spicy kick of chili flakes. Perfect for pizza, chicken, and cheese.
Ingredients
1 cup clover or wildflower honey
2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 pinch sea salt
Instructions
Step 1: Place the honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
Step 2: Stir gently and heat until the honey starts to show tiny bubbles around the edges (do not let it boil).
Step 3: Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the apple cider vinegar and a pinch of salt.
Step 4: Let the mixture steep for 5-10 minutes depending on your desired heat level.
Step 5: Optional: Strain the honey through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the pepper flakes, or leave them in for extra heat.
Step 6: Pour the easy hot honey sauce recipe into a clean glass jar and let it cool completely before sealing.
Notes
Store at room temperature for up to 6 months. If the honey crystallizes, simply warm the jar in a bowl of hot water.
