Ingredients
9-inch chocolate pie crust
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
21 oz cherry pie filling
8 oz Cool Whip, plus extra for topping
1½ cups semi-sweet mini chocolate chips, divided
Maraschino cherries, optional for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is fluffy and smooth.
Step 2: Gently stir in the cherry pie filling, then carefully fold in the 8 oz of Cool Whip until well combined and silky.
Step 3: Fold in 1 cup of the mini chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the filling.
Step 4: Spoon the filling into the chocolate pie crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
Step 5: Refrigerate the pie for at least 3–4 hours until it is perfectly set and easy to slice.
Step 6: Before serving, garnish with extra Cool Whip, the remaining half cup of chocolate chips, and maraschino cherries if desired.
Notes
Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. For a firmer pie, let it chill overnight.
