Description

Whip up the ultimate Easy Sheet Pan Nachos for a quick, crowd-pleasing meal or appetizer perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb lean ground beef
1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
1 (15 oz) bag sturdy tortilla chips
1 (15 oz) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (4 oz) can diced green chiles, drained
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup diced fresh tomatoes (for serving)
1/4 cup diced red onion (for serving)
1/4 cup sliced pickled jalapeños (for serving, optional)
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (for serving)
Sour cream, guacamole, and salsa (for serving)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Step 2: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess grease.
Step 3: Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid has mostly evaporated and the beef is well seasoned.
Step 4: Arrange about half of the tortilla chips in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet.
Step 5: Sprinkle half of the cooked ground beef, black beans, and green chiles over the chips. Top with half of the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
Step 6: Repeat with the remaining chips, beef mixture, and cheese, ensuring everything is spread out as evenly as possible.
Step 7: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chips are slightly golden at the edges.
Step 8: Carefully remove the sheet pan from the oven. Garnish immediately with fresh diced tomatoes, red onion, sliced jalapeños (if using), and fresh cilantro.
Step 9: Serve hot with dollops of sour cream, scoops of guacamole, and bowls of salsa on the side.

Notes

For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the ground beef. You can also swap out ground beef for shredded chicken or pork. Ensure all wet toppings like salsa and guacamole are added *after* baking to maintain the chips' crispiness.
