Description

A delightfully moist and flavorful quick bread, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack, packed with the comforting taste of applesauce and warm spices.

Ingredients

Scale

1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
¾ cup sugar
½ cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp cloves
1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and thoroughly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until well combined.
Step 3: In a separate large bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, sugar, eggs, unsweetened applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Step 4: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Step 5: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
Step 6: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle some chopped walnuts, pecans, or even a few raisins into the batter before baking. A light dusting of powdered sugar makes for a beautiful presentation.
