Description
A quick and elegant recipe for perfectly tender sea scallops baked in a rich garlic butter sauce, ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
1 lb large sea scallops (cleaned and patted dry)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted unsalted butter, minced garlic, and fresh lemon juice.
Step 3: Arrange the cleaned and thoroughly patted dry scallops in a single layer in a shallow baking dish or an oven-safe skillet. Ensure they are not overlapping.
Step 4: Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the scallops. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Step 5: Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the scallops are opaque throughout and slightly golden brown at the edges. Be careful not to overcook, as they can become rubbery.
Step 6: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh, dry-packed sea scallops. The key to tender scallops is not to overcook them; they cook very quickly. Serve immediately for the best texture.
