A soft, buttery cookie infused with cotton candy flavor and a secret ingredient that makes them glow under blacklight.
Ingredients
1 cup butter softened
1 cup sugar granulated
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup cotton candy powder
1 teaspoon quinine powder food-safe
1/4 cup tonic water regular
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Step 4: Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cotton candy powder in a separate bowl.
Step 5: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
Step 6: Stir in the quinine powder and tonic water, adding neon food coloring if desired.
Step 7: Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
Step 8: Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set. Do not over-bake.
Step 9: Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
Notes
Use a true UV blacklight for the best glowing effect. Concentrated neon gel colors work better than liquid ones.
