Description
A savory, buttery, and cheesy pull-apart bread loaded with zesty green chiles and melted Monterey Jack cheese.
Ingredients
3.5 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2.25 tsp) active dry yeast
1 cup warm milk (110°F)
2 tbsp granulated sugar
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp salt
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup diced green chiles, drained
2 tbsp melted butter mixed with 1 tsp garlic powder for brushing
Instructions
Step 1: Proof the yeast by mixing warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
Step 2: Mix in the melted butter, salt, and flour to form a soft dough.
Step 3: Knead the dough for 8 minutes and let it rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
Step 4: Roll the dough into a large rectangle and top with green chiles and shredded cheese.
Step 5: Cut the dough into squares, stack them, and place them in a greased loaf pan.
Step 6: Let the bread rise for 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
Step 7: Brush with garlic butter and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure the chiles are very dry to avoid a soggy middle. You can substitute Hatch chiles for canned green chiles if available.
