Description
A vibrant and spooky non-alcoholic punch featuring apple cider, cranberry juice, and green apple slices, perfect for any Halloween celebration.
Ingredients
6 cups (about 1.5 quarts) apple cider, chilled
4 cups (about 1 quart) cranberry juice, chilled
2 liters (about 8.5 cups) ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, chilled
2-3 green apples, thinly sliced
Green food coloring (optional, for "poison" effect)
Dry ice (optional, for fog effect, handle with care)
Instructions
Step 1: In a large punch bowl or pitcher, combine the chilled apple cider and cranberry juice. Stir gently to mix.
Step 2: If using green food coloring for the "poison" effect, dip about half of the green apple slices into a small bowl with a few drops of green food coloring mixed with a tablespoon of water. Arrange these dyed apples around the rim of the bowl or float them in the punch.
Step 3: Just before serving, slowly pour in the chilled ginger ale or lemon-lime soda. Stir very gently to combine, trying not to lose too much carbonation.
Step 4: Add the remaining plain green apple slices to float in the punch.
Step 5: If using dry ice, carefully place a small chunk into a separate, smaller heat-safe bowl that fits inside your main punch bowl. The fog will spill over, creating a spooky effect. Ensure guests do not touch or consume the dry ice. Serve immediately and enjoy your ghoulishly good punch!
Notes
For an adult version, add 1.5 cups of vodka, white rum, or spiced rum to the cider and cranberry juice mixture before adding the soda. Adjust to taste. Remember to handle dry ice with extreme caution.
