- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups frozen or canned green beans, drained
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup crispy fried onions (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef until fully cooked; drain excess grease.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook 3–4 minutes until onions soften and fragrant.
- Stir in green beans, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, half the cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder; mix until creamy and combined.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour in the mixture; spread evenly.
- Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted and golden.
- If using crispy fried onions, sprinkle them on during the last 5 minutes of baking for crunch.
Notes
For extra veggies, add corn or peas. To stretch the dish, mix in cooked rice or pasta. Crispy fried onions add great texture but are optional.
