Ingredients
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
½ cup light brown sugar packed
½ cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs at room temperature
1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Beat in the vanilla and eggs one at a time until well combined.
Step 5: Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until just combined.
Step 6: Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
Step 7: Shape the dough into hearts by placing two small balls of dough side-by-side and pinching the bottom into a point.
Step 8: Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for better shape retention and use mini chocolate chips for easier heart forming.
