Description
These homemade pizza pockets are a fun, easy, and customizable snack or meal, packed with gooey cheese, savory pepperoni, and rich marinara, all wrapped in a golden crust.
Ingredients
1 (8-count) can refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough sheet
1/2 cup marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup mini pepperoni
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 egg, beaten
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: If using crescent roll dough, separate into 8 triangles. If using pizza dough, roll it out into a rectangle and cut into 8 squares.
Step 3: In the center of each dough piece, spread about 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce, leaving a border. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, mini pepperoni, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
Step 4: Fold one side of the dough over the filling to form a pocket. Pinch the edges firmly to seal, using a fork to crimp if desired to ensure a tight seal.
Step 5: Place the sealed pizza pockets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the pockets with the beaten egg wash.
Step 6: Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Feel free to customize your pizza pockets with your favorite toppings like cooked sausage, diced bell peppers, or mushrooms. Just make sure the fillings aren't too wet to prevent a soggy crust.
