Description

Juicy turkey burgers stuffed with a creamy, spicy, and smoky jalapeño popper filling, featuring cheddar, cream cheese, bacon, and fresh jalapeños, perfect for a flavor-packed meal.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs ground turkey
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 large egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2-3 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
4 burger buns
1 avocado, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)
Lime wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix just until combined; avoid overmixing. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions.
Step 2: In a separate medium bowl, prepare the jalapeño popper filling. Combine the softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, finely chopped jalapeños, and crumbled cooked bacon. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Step 3: Take one portion of the turkey mixture and flatten it into a thin, round patty. Create a slight indentation or well in the center of the patty. Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the jalapeño popper filling into this well.
Step 4: Carefully take another portion of the turkey mixture (or fold the edges of the first patty) and form it around the filling, completely sealing it to create a stuffed patty. Ensure there are no gaps for the filling to escape. Repeat with the remaining turkey and filling.
Step 5: Cook the burgers on your preheated grill or a hot skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the turkey is thoroughly cooked.
Step 6: Serve the cooked burgers immediately on your favorite buns with fresh avocado slices, juicy tomato slices, a sprinkle of fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime for a burst of freshness. Enjoy your incredible stuffed turkey burgers!

Notes

For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds in the filling. To prevent burgers from sticking, lightly oil your grill grates or skillet.
