Description

A comforting and flavorful ramen bowl featuring spicy jalapeno sausage, rich broth, and a perfectly fried egg for an extra layer of indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets if making your own broth)
6 oz jalapeno sausage, casing removed or sliced
4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 large eggs
1 tbsp cooking oil (for frying eggs)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Optional: Chili oil, sesame seeds, fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: In a medium saucepan or pot, brown the jalapeno sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon if using bulk sausage. Cook until nicely browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the pot for flavor.
Step 2: Add the chicken or vegetable broth to the pot with the sausage. Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Bring the broth to a simmer.
Step 3: Add the ramen noodles to the simmering broth. Cook according to package directions, usually 2-3 minutes, until tender but still slightly firm.
Step 4: While the ramen cooks, heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet. Fry until the whites are set and slightly crispy at the edges, but the yolks are still runny, about 2-3 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Step 5: Divide the ramen noodles and broth evenly into two serving bowls. Top each bowl with half of the cooked jalapeno sausage.
Step 6: Carefully place one fried egg on top of each ramen bowl. Garnish generously with sliced green onions and any optional toppings like chili oil or sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of sausage or add quick-cooking vegetables like spinach or sliced mushrooms to the broth for added nutrients. A dash of rice vinegar can brighten the flavor profile.
