Description
A quick and delicious tropical breakfast treat using soft Hawaiian rolls and a creamy cheesecake filling.
Ingredients
1 package King's Hawaiian sweet rolls
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 oz crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
1-2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth.
Step 3: Add the egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the cream cheese, mixing until fully combined.
Step 4: Keep the sweet rolls together and place them in the prepared pan.
Step 5: Cut a small well into the top of each roll using a knife, pressing the center down to make room for filling.
Step 6: Fill each well with the cream cheese mixture.
Step 7: Top the cream cheese with a small amount of drained crushed pineapple and one strawberry slice.
Step 8: Bake for 15-20 minutes until the rolls are toasted and the filling is set.
Step 9: Whisk the glaze ingredients together and drizzle over the rolls while they are still warm.
Notes
Ensure the pineapple is very well drained to avoid a soggy bottom. For a crunchier texture, add chopped pecans on top.
