Description
These incredibly easy chocolate chip cookie bars are made with just 4 ingredients and one bowl, delivering chewy, gooey deliciousness with minimal effort.
Ingredients
1 box yellow cake mix (about 15.25 oz)
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly to prevent sticking.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and eggs. Stir everything together thoroughly until a thick, uniform dough forms.
Step 3: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough, so every bite is packed with chocolate.
Step 4: Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and drop them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. You can slightly flatten them if you prefer.
Step 5: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are just set. The bars will continue to firm up as they cool, so avoid overbaking for a chewier texture.
Step 6: Let the cookie bars cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 7: Once fully cooled, slice the cookie bars into squares or rectangles and serve. Enjoy your deliciously easy homemade treat!
Notes
For an extra touch, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of the bars before baking to enhance the chocolate flavor. These also taste amazing served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
