  • Author: Fati
  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: 24 bars 1x

Description

Quick and easy cookie bars made with yellow cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and chocolate chips for a soft, chewy, and chocolatey treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter, and eggs. Stir until thick dough forms.
  3. Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  5. Optionally, press dough slightly to flatten for more uniform bars.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers are set but still soft.
  7. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Cut into bars and serve. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use different cake mixes for flavor variations. Substitute applesauce for butter for a lighter version. Freeze dough or baked bars for later enjoyment. Add nuts, dried fruit, or other mix-ins to customize.
